The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) Veterinary Assistant program allows us to help mold the future of our industry. Participants in this high school career training program come to our clinic where they receive hands-on work experience. Work duties include everything from cleaning kennels to patient care and even some emergencies.
Testimonials
I am currently an EVIT extern at Agape animal clinic. My experience at Agape has been outstanding. I have learned so much starting from medical procedures, vaccines , properly restraining, building my confidence , socializing and i still continue to learn and grow. Agape has been generous enough to take me and a few of my comrades in to learn and get experience in a clinic environment.

I am a graduating senior at the East Valley Institute of Technology. My experience with Agape Animal Clinic has been nothing but positive and exciting. Each day I am learning new things and improving my skills! I’ve gotten to participate in a lot of patient care- including tending to kennels, giving vaccines, and even performing simple grooming. Before I started this new journey, I was terrified about being put into a real veterinary clinic with only my classroom knowledge but now that I’ve been here a while I feel confident and know that we are directly bettering the lives of animals in our community together.

I am the externship coordinator for East Valley Institute of Technology’s Veterinary Assistant program. There are no words to describe the appreciation I have for Agape Animal Clinic. The staff at Agape have taken our students as externs for the past few years and the students have learned to do so much. Our students are learning hands on skills to prepare them for the work force. Students come back to EVIT with nothing but great stories of what they were able to accomplish while at the clinic.
I would like to personally thank Dr. Amy Coy, Chris Roberts and Joe Hinton for all their efforts to make sure our externs are getting the best experience while out on their externships, along with coming out to visit EVIT and speak to the students. I hope that in the coming years as our veterinary assistant program grows, we are able to continue this partnership with Agape Animal Clinic.
